- The "National Innovation Award" is the highest benchmark for biomedical, health, and cross-disciplinary innovation in Taiwan. Within this, the "Academic Innovation Award" serves as a key platform for academic and research teams to showcase breakthrough innovations. This year, applications are open across seven major categories: (1) Smart Medicine & Health Technology, (2) Bio-Pharmaceuticals & Precision Medicine, (3) Innovative Medical Devices & Diagnostic Technology, (4) Agricultural & Food Biotechnology, (5) Specialty Chemicals & Applied Biotechnology, (6) Environmental Technology & Energy Applications, and (7) Innovative Epidemic Prevention Technology.
- Recipients of the "National Innovation Award" are selected and recommended by a panel of 90 authorities from the medical field, scientific leaders, government officials, and experts in industrial technology and investment evaluation. These experts provide guidance on product development and market pathways. Past winning teams have become the primary stop for industries seeking R&D, licensing, and investment targets. Furthermore, the annual "Demo Day"—the largest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific—is a prestigious stage where startups strive to attract international attention. By converging the abundant R&D energy of medical and academic institutions, the "National Innovation Award" offers winning teams strategic guidance for commercialization, continues to organize the "Inno Zone" International Roadshow, and assists in linking key resources such as venture capital, clinical development, intellectual property law, accounting/taxation, and international markets to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship.
- The application period for this year is open from now until July 31, 2026. The application fee is NT$55,000 per entry.
