Taipei, July 17 — Taipei Medical University (TMU), together with BE Health Ventures and Show Chwan Health Care System (SCHS), co-hosted the "2026 TMU × BE × SCHS Demo Day: PULSE HORIZON" at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The event brought together 10 medical technology startups from seven countries — Taiwan, the U.S., Canada, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the U.K. — highlighting Taiwan's growing role as a hub connecting clinical resources, innovation, capital, and international markets.
Three Focus Tracks
The participating startups — including Aulea Medical, AISI X, Brainmate, MacroInsight Innovation, Luminopia, Machnet Robotics, Omnilabs Research, RADAX.AI, RadiRad, and Xandar Kardian — spanned three core areas:
Notable achievements include Luminopia's FDA-authorized VR digital therapy for childhood amblyopia (already prescribed over 11,000 times) and Xandar Kardian's FDA 510(k)-cleared radar technology for wearable-free heart and respiratory monitoring. Taiwan-based MacroInsight Innovation can complete mammography image quality review in under 2 seconds, while RADAX.AI uses AI to help physicians detect intracranial aneurysms as small as 3mm.
Expert Panel on Capital, Evidence, and Global Market Entry
A keynote panel, "Reimagining Healthcare — The Next Frontier for Innovation, Investment and Adoption," was moderated by Dr. Yvette Lu (BE Health Ventures) and featured Christopher Potts (Persephoni BioPartners), Dr. Jaemin Park (Heal Venture Lab), Rudi Pauwels (Praesens Foundation), and Yiu-Lian Fong (DxRxPM Biotech Consulting), discussing how medical innovations can move from clinical validation to commercialization and global adoption.
A Growing Ecosystem Since 2018
Since 2018, TMU has worked alongside BE Health and SCHS to integrate hospital clinical resources, accelerator support, investment networks, and international partnerships — helping startups reduce the risks of product development and market entry. The organizers noted that the Demo Day serves not only as a showcase but as a platform for physician consultations, proof-of-concept trials, clinical adoption, and investment matchmaking.
Going forward, TMU, BE Health, and SCHS plan to deepen this collaboration through the Asia Hospital Network, further positioning Taiwan as a key hub for clinical validation, innovation partnerships, and cross-border market connections in medical technology.
