Taipei Medical University (TMU) took a leading role at the 2026 Healthy Ageing Tech Show, held August 7–9 at the Taipei World Trade Center. Under the theme "New Trends in Healthy Ageing – Innovative Healthcare GO!", TMU brought together its hospital network, research teams, and affiliated startups to present an integrated vision of ageing-in-place care, organizing the exhibit around three immersive zones: Smart Hospital, Home Health, and Community Long-Term Care, with 21 interactive stations spanning smart healthcare products, technologies, and elder-care solutions.
A highlight of the showcase was TMU's dedicated startup accelerator, which works with biomedical and smart-care startups to help them move from research to real-world deployment. The accelerator provides clinical validation, regulatory consulting, and business-model matchmaking, giving emerging technologies direct exposure to end users on the exhibition floor. This reflects TMU's broader effort to build a closed-loop innovation ecosystem connecting R&D, clinical validation, and public engagement — advancing the goal of helping people avoid illness, dementia, and loss of functional independence.
Within the exhibit, one of TMU's affiliated hospitals presented an integrated dementia care model spanning prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term support. Throughout the event, experts from TMU's hospitals, colleges, and industry partners also held a series of talks covering topics such as bone health, sarcopenia, dementia prevention, home-based acute care, smart ECG monitoring, rehabilitation, and senior nutrition, offering practical, everyday health knowledge to attendees.
TMU emphasized that healthy ageing is not a single medical issue but an integrated challenge spanning preventive medicine, clinical care, rehabilitation, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and social support. Leveraging its network of hospitals and long-term care services, TMU said it will continue connecting academic research with industry innovation to bring emerging technologies into real-world care settings and build a people-centered healthy-ageing ecosystem.
