Taipei Medical University Biomedical Accelerator (TMU BioMed Accelerator) led the APEC Digital Healthcare Workshop at Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA). The workshop was part of the APEC Digital Health Forum, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), Ministry of Economic Affairs. Nearly 100 participants attended, including experts from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The event focused on aging populations and digital healthcare in the Asia-Pacific region.
After a morning of keynote speeches and a session on moving from clinical pain points to market validation, TMU BioMed Accelerator ran the afternoon workshop. Physicians and accelerator mentors guided startups through a hands-on exercise in Proof-of-Concept (PoC) design. The exercise covered regulatory validation, business metrics, and solution validation, and helped the startups turn clinical needs into solutions that are feasible and ready for the market.
TMU BioMed Accelerator will continue to support the government’s work on smart healthcare. It will draw on TMU’s clinical network and international ecosystem to help Taiwan’s digital health startups expand globally.
