2026 Taiwan-Berkeley Health Innovation Accelerator ─ Berkeley Public Health Program

Project Introduction

To strengthen ties between the Taiwanese and American biomedical industries and assist Taiwanese entrepreneurs in entering the US biomedical market, this program collaborates with the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley (SPH) to send outstanding Taiwanese biomedical startups to the US for a three-month training program. Through guidance and training from leading experts in the US biomedical field, the program aims to help participating startups advance their technological capabilities, learn relevant innovation management knowledge and regulations, and leverage Berkeley's extensive resources and network both on and off campus to connect with the local US market and secure business opportunities.
Guiding Unit: National Development and Reform Commission

  • Organizer: China Center for Biotechnology Development
  • Training period: The training is expected to take place from August 31, 2026 to November 25, 2026. Newly established companies that pass the review and are accepted will be required to travel to the United States for the full 3-month training program to be considered as having completed the training.
  • Funding amount: NT$300,000 per person
  • Training Location: School of Public Health (SPH), University of California, Berkeley
  • Training areas: Startups in the biotechnology and medical field, including biotechnology, medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and other fields that have been approved for biomedical technology innovation.
