On March 28, 2023, a team of four including the Director Matthew Sherburne and Director Olivia Kuo (representatives of Dado and Maria Banatao GLOBE Center), Program Coordinator Hazel Narvaez, and Associate Director Betsy Gudino visited Taipei Medical University to seek industry-academic cooperation or talent exchange opportunities. This visit was arranged by Szu-Ying Ho, Team leader of the Silicon Valley Office of TMU. The team and TMU discussed the possibility of cooperation in the cultivation of startups.

Chun-Mao Lin, Director of Office of Business Development, welcomed the team on behalf of Taipei Medical University of the BioMed Accelerator in Shuangho Campus. Dr. Jowy, CEO of Accelerator, and Dr. Meng-Huang Wu, CEO of Biodesign introduced the talent training system of the innovative ecosystem of Taipei Medical University.

The team and TMU have a consensus on the cultivation of talents required by the innovation ecosystem, and Berkeley will soon recommend their students TMU for short-term exchanges. We will contribute relevant resources to assist Berkeley visiting students, and we also welcome the TMU’s startups to visit Berkeley for exchanges. This will fully shorten the distance between Taipei Medical University and the international market through the international link of the Silicon Valley office.
